Mid Pregnancy Recommendations Part 1

Hello again from southern Minnesota! I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with my first baby! I’m so excited to be almost halfway. My bump became very evident to me in just the last week. I can’t even suck in to hide it anymore!😂 I’m excited to be out of the awkward stage where I look like I’m gaining weight, but don’t yet have the baby bump, so I just look fat. It’s so weird how much my body is changing.

Anyways, I’ll get to the stuff that has helped me along my pregnancy journey so far, and my hope is that maybe it will help you, too.🙂

I’ll start with a prenatal:

This is the prenatal I take. I’m going to be honest with you. I took a different one in the first trimester because of all my nausea. Whenever I tried to take this one, I would puke it up. My morning sickness isn’t gone yet, though it has eased up a bit. However, through experimenting, I figured out, my morning sickness is only in the morning to early afternoon, so if I took them with dinner, I would be just fine. The reason I continued to try with this brand, instead of just moving on, is I really like and trust this brand. It’s natural, and has multiple certifications. Plus it’s full of so many essentials for baby. I’m glad I stuck with it.

Second thing I’ll mention is, I’m a really healthy eater, so I would wake up in the morning starving in the first trimester, and drink water, and throw it up. So I would try to eat something healthy like eggs or oatmeal, and throw it up. So I learned to just starve until like 2 or 3pm until I felt well enough to eat. So that’s what I would do. But one morning I had one of my husband’s pop tarts because I was craving something sweet, and to my surprise, I was totally fine afterward! No puking! So I would eat a poptart every morning, and after that, I was usually fine the rest of the day to eat or drink anything. I felt bad though, giving my baby pop tarts everyday. But I think it was better for my baby that I felt better in the day and could eat and drink normally.

This greens drink is my next recommendation. My father-in-law gave it to me. I usually have it as a snack between lunch and dinner. It’s pretty tasty, in my opinion, and full of really good stuff for baby and me.

CALM magnesium I would HIGHLY recommend! This stuff is a life saver. I put it in water and drink it right before bed. It’s tasty, and helps calm me down for bedtime and helps me sleep better through the night, AND… What pregnant woman doesn’t struggle with constipation? Magnesium naturally softens stools by drawing water to them. This supplement has helped SO much in regulating my bathroom trips.😉

These helped with nauseasness a good deal. I bought these for around $3, at Wal-Mart. It’s ingredients are cane sugar, ginger, and tapioca starch. If you aren’t a ginger person, my sister-in-law, who is only 7 weeks further along then me, recommended lemon heads.

I think I’ll end now, and make a Part 2 later on.

I’ll just close by saying, these are my recommendations, but they won’t work for everyone, so use your own judgement or talk to your doctor or midwife. I would love to hear what helps you during pregnancy in the comments below. I love to see how different everyone is during pregnacy, and as I said, I’m a FTM, so all this stuff is new and interesting to me! So again, leave any tips/recommendations in the comments.

Thankyou so much for reading! And have a blessed day.❤
